Seriously adorable

just woke up

Jaxon's quote of the day

Kevin and I have been teaching Jaxon about appropriate touch. I told him if someone wants to touch your pee-pee you say in a loud voice "DON'T TOUCH MY PEE-PEE". He thinks this is fun so we make up scenerios like...what if someone says "Jaxon can I see your pee-pee, what do ya say". And of course he screams out, in his mean voice, "Don't touch my pee-pee". Tonight I said Jaxon what if someone says I'll give you a candy if you let me touch your pee-pee, what do you say..."Thanks" was his reply. I just started laughing...oh the innocence of youth.

A Day at the Beach

Jaxon earned an outing by going poo, yes I said poo. I am so tired of changing poo pull-ups! Jax is awesome at pee in the potty but poo is a work in process. So he has a chart that he just recently filled and he chose the beach as his reward. I let him take a friend so Addie came too. We went to mother's beach here in Long Beach. It is such an awesome beach. It has water, sand, and a park...it's perfect!

Growing a Garden

A few months ago I started a garden. Most of the stuff died but I was able to harvest, artichokes, carrots, red onions, zucchini, and two tomatoes (after the two tomatoes the plant died, no idea why). The two tomatoes were picked an eaten before I could get a picture. The artichoke and a few carrots were ready for the pickin today. They are beautiful and I am so proud of them. The boys loved the carrots. It was the sweetest carrot, I not sure if it tasted sweet because the victory of making it or if it was actually sweet...either way, it was yummy!!!

Swim Lessons

I overheard some moms talking about swim classes for their children. It was the beginning of August and I thought, yah I should probably get Jaxon some lessons. When I remembered, a week later, I googled the Lakewood rec. center swimming. The website was confusing and trying to sign Jax up was like trying to figure out a Tangram. I assumed what I was looking for would be called Toddler Swim or Your baby can swim or something to that nature. There was a class that was offered for ages 3-16 and included mental and physically challenged kids. I thought the age range was rather large but it was the only class with Jaxon's age identified. So I signed him up for Adaptive swim.

On the first day of swim class, we showed up right on time. I mean I ran in the locker room at 10:30 for the 10:30 class. I sprayed Jax with sun screen and walked out to the pool area. There was a group of kids Jaxon's age in the pool already. I wanted to make sure that this was his class so I stopped a life guard walking by and asked. "I am looking for the 10:30 swim class?" He looked at Jaxon and then at me and said what's his name. I replied Jaxon. He looked at me funny and said "Oh he is with me, Adaptive swim right?". At this point I couldn't remember what the name of the class was so I said, "Uhm I am not sure what class I signed him up for". He replied that I had signed him up for Adaptive swim, a class reserved for only mentally and physically challenged kids...OOPPS! Luckily Mr. Vince (that's what Jax called him) didn't mind, and Jaxon got two weeks of private swim lessons. On that last day he even jumped off the diving board!!!

Mr. Vince was such a good teacher. Thank you Mr Vince!!!

Ahh, so cute...hey stop that!

Kevin took his laptop in Jaxon's room and put on a movie for him to watch as he drank his milk and got ready for bed. Milan wants to do everything Jax does so he made his way to Jaxon and cried to get up next to his big brother. Kevin and I ran to get the camera. We just kept snapping waiting forthe amazing photo (anyone who has kids knows it takes thirty to get one) and this is how the event unfolded....
Jaxon drinking his milk, Milan eating a cracker, proud mom and dad snapping pictures
Dad - "No Milan, Jaxon doesn't want your cracker"
Milan - "hah, hah, I made my brother mad and it was kinda funny. I am going try that again"
Mom - "No Milan, stop" Dad - "No hitting...no pushing"
And then a mad rush to make sure Milan didn't fall off the chair after Jaxon pushed him away.

Jaxon's best friend next door

I never forget how lucky Jax is to have such a good friend close by and so close in age. I cherish the moments when he or Addie beg to play together. Jaxon loves his cousin so much that every time he sees her he has to give her a hug. Don't get me wrong, it's not always easy to manage two strong willed children and most play times end with Jaxon hitting or Addie screaming or both. But my heart melts when they hug and say sorry and then cry when one or the other has to leave. Most recently, if Kara or Brian tell Addie it's time to go home, Jaxon will stare at them and in a very stern vocie exclaim "No don't take my Addie!".

Spaghetti anyone???

Here is a picture of my adorable son, Milan.
Here is a picture of my adorable son Milan just after a delicious meal of spaghetti.
You know it's good when you get it all over you!

My son the comedian

I was unbuckling Jaxon's seatbelt this afternoon and the dang thing was stuck (thank you melted ice cream!). I was pushing and pulling and in the middle of it Jaxon licked my face. Which must of helped since I got it un-stuck right after the lick. I turned and looked at him and said "ewh...Jax why did you lick my face?" "Cause your a sucker" he replied.

Birthday Party

I figured that since Milan is turning one he wouldn't mind sharing a birthday with Jaxon. Jaxon didn't care because he didn't consider the party shared, to him it was all for him. I would say it's Milan's birthday too and he would say "not Milan, me!". This will probably be the first and last combined birthday party. Which is kinda a bummer since parties are so expensive. If I totaled everything out for this party I would guess it cost about $600. Party = $600, Smiles on the faces of the birthday boys = priceless.
We started the day by getting our grub on...yum, delicious taco bar, pork, steak and chicken.

The days activities: jumper, animal egg hunt, feed the elephant (like pin the tail on the donkey but you have to put a peanut in the elephants mouth, and make a spiderweb (you spray silly string at a poster of spiders).

An of course we had a pinata...look at that form.

Desert was cupcakes. I made three kinds: oreo cookie with actual oreos inside, strawberry with chocolate frosting, and funfetti with vanilla frosting and an animal cookie on top.

Milan was all over it!!!!

I wish I had more pictures to show but I was running around like crazy trying to keep everything running smoothly. But everyone had fun and that is what matters most!

Jaxon turned three today!

Holly Crab, I feel old. I turned thirty this year and now my little Jaxon turned three. I still remember all the work to get him here. Now I wonder...what the heck was I thinking!!!

Jaxon is a sweet boy. His manners are impeccable. He is super friendly and loving, but don't cross him. This kid has a mean streak and a strong right hook. But he also will defend any damsel in distress no matter how old or big the bully. That's my boy!

The three for July 11-15

This week I got off easy on having to plan my three fun activities because it was Milan's birthday and then the boys' birthday party. On Milan's birthday we went to lunch at five guys. That was totally a mom and dad pick but we scored when I huge firetruck pulled up. Boys love firetrucks!
Then dad went to work and mom and the boys went to this cute little place in Manhattan Beach called Under the Sea. It is like a tiny Fun Zone for toddlers. Both boys LOVED it. There was plenty to do for bothMilan and Jaxon. The added bonus was it isn't super close so the boys fell asleep on the way home and stayed asleep once I transitioned them into their bed. I am sure all mom's agree with me that the transitional phase is the most scary cause it could go totally well or totally wrong!

Wednesdaysare always a "free space" (A bingo reference, I seriously love bingo...I plan on being one of those old ladies in the casino with my blotter and troll doll). Anyway, Wednesdays we go to Jeff and Dianne's to play with cousins...or really Jaxon goes to play with cousin's cars.

Then Saturday was the Party. So much fun stuff with the party that it will get it's own post.

My baby turned one today!

One year down. When Milan was born I was so excited to have a son that looks like me, because Jaxon is all Dad, except for his feisty little attitude. As Milan got older somehow he went blonde with blue eyes, but I still tell people he looks like me and just wait for their confused reactions.

I am so grateful for Milan. What a blessing! He is so patient and sweet. We call him smilin' Milan because he is always quick to smile and giggle. I feel so blessed to be his momma.

This weeks three

This week was easy for the three activities. Monday was fourth of July so we had a fun filled day. We had a pancake breakfast in the morning and fireworks in the evening. On Tuesday, Jaxon and Milan enjoyed the Discovery Science Center with Grammy and Izzy (Scott and Emily's daughter). On Wednesday, Jaxon got to go with Dad to the golf course so that dad could practice for his big tournament. On Thursday, I figured I had met my quota so I coasted till the weekend. :) Well we did go to Dana Point this weekend to visit the Ocean Institute, so there was that.
Milan loved these little fish things at the Discovery Science Center. If your wondering why he is without a shirt it is because he drenched himself with his juice and his mother didn't have a change of clothes for him.
Subway before Ocean Institute...Can you see the resemblance?
On the Pirate Ship at the Ocean Institute. The Captain of the pirate ship, who looked nothing like Captain Hook but who Jaxon kept calling Captain Hook, went on and on forever about boats and history. You weren't allowed to touch or play with anything. Kevin walked around with Milan when he got fussy and Captain Hook yelled at him. I would not recommended this for anybody that enjoys having a good time.

My Summertime goal

I have made a goal this summer to plan at least three fun outings a week for the kids. Last week was the first week and it was a success. On tuesday we went to Chick-fil-a, on Wednesday we went to Jeff/Dianne's house to play with cousins, on thursday we went to Balboa island.

I only took pictures at Balboa. You can tell that I am an amateur photographer because the pictures don't quite show how much fun we had. The carousel there had miniature horses for the little ones that didn't go up and down. I put Jax and Milan next to each other on their own horse. Milan loved being next to Jaxon. He kept touching and grabbing at him. Jaxon loved the attention. I am amazed at how much the boys love each other all ready!
